Weekly Update

Round Table Meeting

On Wednesday, October 30th from 6:00 to 7:00 pm in nsc 216, we will have multiple engineers from local companies with experiences in the five disciplines of civil engineering; structural, geotechnical, transportation, construction management, and water/wastewater. They will be available to answer questions and share their experiences. This event is a great way to learn about different opportunities in civil engineering, and is also a great networking opportunity so be sure to attend!

Job Opportunity

Clark Patterson Lee is currently looking for 2 summer interns for Summer 2020. Part time work at 20-30 hours per week is currently available. Clark Patterson Lee specializes in engineering design and planning in the Buffalo area. Any one (not looking to do structural work) is welcome to apply, but should be at least Junior status or really competent as a Sophomore. ASCE students have been very successful in the past! Concrete Canoe Hull Design Meeting: Thursday (lookout for a GroupMe message with specifics) Mix Meeting: Thursday (look out for a GroupMe message with specifics) Paddling Meeting: Wednesday and Friday at Lake LaSalle at 5:00 pm Also, there will be a Practice Pour Day on Saturday, November 9th from 10:00 am - 1:00 pm

Steel Bridge

There will be a team meeting to discuss the final design on Thursday at 7:00 pm in Jarvis 223. There will also be a load test of last year's bridge on Friday at 4:00 pm in Jarvis 117 (the lab).

Seismic Design

This Wednesday at 6:00 pm there will be a General Body Meeting. Stay tuned for an email from PM's about the location for this meeting, as well as a tour for Taylor Device. Details will be clarified in this email so keep a look out for an email from Long or John!
