American Red Cross Blood Drive

Hello everyone, I hope you all have enjoyed your summer! As we come closer to a new school year, I would like to inform you all of an upcoming fundraiser: The University at Buffalo Chapter of the American Society of Civil Engineers is proud to sponsor our next blood drive with the American Red Cross on Monday, August 26; the first day of classes. An estimated 38 percent of Americans are eligible to give blood, but of those, less than 10 percent actually donate each year. If you are healthy and eligible, please come out to donate. Most donations take about an hour, so book your appointment, roll up your sleeve and become a part of the lifesaving mission of the Red Cross and UB ASCE.

Additionally, volunteers are needed throughout the day on Monday to help with set up and donor registration, so if you are available during the day on Monday, the volunteer sign-up sheet is available here. Since this is a community service event, you have the opportunity to fulfill the community service requirement needed to attend regionals this spring. This can be fulfilled by volunteering at the drive for two hours or more, or by simply donating blood. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask Andrew.

Each pint of blood we collect can help save up to three lives and will touch the lives of so many more. Donating is a great way to make an impact on people in our community and across the country. We are very excited about the drive and I hope you are too. Hope to see you there!
