Seismic Design
The Seismic Design Team designs and builds a scale model skyscraper using only balsa wood and dampers. At the national competition, held in San Diego, California, in 2011, each team gives a presentation on their designs, and then the models are subjected to three different real life earthquakes on a small shake table.
The 2012 competition will be held in Memphis, Tennessee.
